These notches are CNC cut out of 3/16 mild steel with 2x2 square tubing 1/4 inch thick tubing welded for superior strength. The inside frame cap is 3 1/2 inches wide 1/4 inch thick to help retain the strength in the frame rail when notching your frame. These notches allow you to get the maximum amount of clearance without cutting a hole in the bed floor of your truck.

My preferred notch!
I've welded in several of these on 88-98, 99-06, and 07-13 GM trucks. I actually have 2 of them myself. One on my 2001 extended cab Silverado "racetruck" I dropped 4/7, and another on my single cab 2003 Silverado "daily driver" I dropped 3/6. The quality is top notch. I love how the front plate comes welded to the square tubing so it's a quicker easier install just fully welding the 2 pieces. The tubing is just at the height limit to fit under the bed. It's very thick and strong as hell. Worth every penny. Any time someone contacts me to notch their frame for a drop, I always tell them to buy the nfamus underbed notch and then come see me. It is very strong as is, but I can see where a backing plate could be a nice added piece for C channel frames if the notch could be kept at the same price point, not that it's really needed.
